Amanda, Patrick & Rory - Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot

First I will start off by saying, I have been a busy lady! August rolled around and everyone wants their picture taken! I have 6 upcoming shoots and 1 upcoming wedding I am very excited for, but that means I have a lot of work a head of me and these blog posts will be spread out.

Now, for Patrick and Amanda - These maternity photos were taken in the middle of July, Amanda was getting bigger by the minute and we wanted to make sure the dress she picked out was still good to wear for the photos. I photographed them in their Allentown apartment, as well as LaSalle Park. I've photographed these two plenty times, so we all knew what we were in for. I love these photos so much and am so happy with the way them came out...

Less than a month later, on August 12th, while in Ithaca, NY after photographing a gorgeous wedding, I get an unexpected text at 7am - "hey girl, my water broke", plain and simple, but it sure got me out of bed. Little Rory was ready to come out, and a month early! I won't get into too much detail, but all I knew is that I was gonna take the first hospital photos and I had to be ready for them. Rory was born, healthy and happy at 7:12pm on 8/12. Because he was premature, he was not allowed visitors right away and had to be monitored in the NICU. I visited the new Mom and Dad that first night, they were simply glowing with happiness. I am so proud to call them my best friends.

I visited Rory Milton Hoover for the first time on Tuesday 8/14, I got to see his beautiful eyes and a little smile here and there. He is truly so beautiful, I was so happy to be able to take these photographs of him, regardless of the machines and monitors around him. There were so many tender moments between Mom, Dad and baby while I was there, I was so honored to capture them. This was my first time shooting a newborn, and hopefully will not be my last.
