Cozy Finger Lakes Wedding Venue

The Finger Lakes are one of the most stunning regions in New York. It’s no wonder so many people want to tie the knot here! For Emily and Cait, this area offered a central point for their family from all over the state. The North Farm ended up being the perfect Finger Lakes wedding venue for their truly one-of-a-kind wedding experience.

The North Farm: A Finger Lakes Wedding Venue

The North Farm is a barn wedding venue in Geneva, NY. It includes a recently renovated barn, courtyard, and multiple outdoor spaces. The barn itself feels very rustic with its weathered red paint. Walking the grounds, it's easy to see that there are so many beautiful spots for portraits. Even on a rainy wedding day like Cait and Emily’s, the lush landscape feels like a world apart.

With so much land and a huge barn, The North Farm is one of the bigger Finger Lakes wedding venues. It has capacity for up to 250 guests. You can get everyone you know on the dance floor! Packages vary depending on your choices and whether you get married during peak season. Generally, they range in cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

This Finger Lakes wedding venue is so close to Seneca Lake that you could practically walk there. It’s just under a two hour drive from Buffalo and an hour from Syracuse. You can plan a relaxing weekend or even week around your wedding and enjoy the restaurants, wineries, and outdoor recreation the region has to offer. Summer and fall are definitely peak times for travel and weddings in this area, so keep that in mind when you’re planning your wedding.

A Unique Finger Lakes Wedding

I was so happy to document Emily and Cait’s celebration at this Finger Lakes wedding venue for a million reasons. One is that they’re dear friends of mine and my husband’s. They put so much trust in us, especially when the day turned torrential with pouring rain on and off all day. Cait and Emily made the most of their day, and it was one of the most special weddings I’ve been a part of.

Family was a huge theme throughout this wedding day. Emily comes from a large family with six siblings. They were all in her wedding party along with their spouses. Cait’s mother, sister, “Best Boy” Bryan, and assorted other friends and family stood by her side. The reception also incorporated tributes to Cait’s late father, Larry. Just outside the dancing area, they created “Larry’s Lounge” with photos, games, and cards with Larry’s face on them.

From the very start of the ceremony, the officiant and MCs encouraged guests to be vocal and present during the ceremony. This made the ceremony so perfect with audience responses, which include a lot of laughter and joy. I can’t help imagining this is one of the most unique ceremonies that this Finger Lakes wedding venue has hosted.

Cait and Emily’s Lively Reception

Cait and Emily’s community turned this peaceful Finger Lakes wedding venue into a party! Their entertainment for the reception, The Pop Show Band, is a full-scale production with backup singers, go go dancers, costume changes, and special effects. Cait accurately described it as “absolutely magical.”

The first time Cait and Emily saw the band perform, they were amazed. Cait leaned over to Emily and said, “This is the band we need at our wedding.” Without hesitation, Emily said, “You’re totally right.” That was the moment Cait started planning an epic proposal that involved an amazing weekend getaway in a treehouse.

In addition to the amazing band, the night’s entertainment included two drag queens, Miss Viola and Stella Progress. They MCed the reception. Since Cait is friends with them from her own work as a drag performer, they made the evening feel personal and welcoming.
