Summer Ski Resort Wedding Day in Ellicottville, NY

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Bride and Groom at Ellicottville Ski Resort on Wedding Day in Summer. Smiling on Chairlift

On the perfect June afternoon in Western New York's Ski Country, Gretchen and Mike said "I do" in Ellicottville Wedding. It truly was the most perfect June day!

Gretchen and Mike seem to be made for one another. There is a chemistry between them that is contagious and you just want to be around! They have so much joy and love in their relationship, it was truly so special to capture and witness.

This wedding day was one of the most smooth weddings I've been apart of, they knew the plan, they knew what was most important to them and with a great team and wedding party... it went on with out any issue! We started the day with getting ready, then headed to the top of Holiday Valley's Tannenbaum Hill for a private First Look and bridal photos. It was the perfect location, being a complete juxtaposition of their engagement photos which were taken in the same location... just in the middle of November and VERY snowy!

The privacy of this moment was the perfect way to start their wedding day, give them a few quiet moments to take it all in and live in the moment before the day flies by! With the help of my AMAZING second shooter that day, Shireen, we were able to capture some very fun moments at the top of the ski slopes.

The ceremony took place outside of Yodeler Lodge at Holiday Valley. As their Newfoundland dogs are a huge part of their lives (see details photos and engagement photos), they had the cutest reading by Mike's cousin Maura which was a poem about how falling in love is a lot like owning a dog. They then shared their own vows, which may be my favorite thing couples chose to do during their ceremony. It was beautiful and full of laughs.

We took a little more time to do a few more photos outside the lodge then went on to the party! Many laughs during the toasts and I have to say, the music choices were sooo good! Definitely my kind of tunes! We ended the night with the wedding party and sparklers!! Absolutely, one of my favorite parts of the day!

Like I said, Gretchen and Mike were meant for one another. I was so happy to be a part of their story and wedding day. Check out their wedding day story below.
