Anyone who loves Western New York summers will love getting married at Knox Farm State Park East Aurora NY. This venue spans 633 acres. The majority is grasslands and gently rolling pasture lands. You get so much open sky here compared to a lot of places in the city. It’s really beautiful!
Other parts of the park include forested areas and ponds. Nature trails wind through it all. You could easily spend hours wandering around.
Knox Farm is part of New York’s state park system overseen by the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. A nonprofit organization runs the mansion on the premises. The huge Colonial Revival home was carefully restored. You’ll love its quiet historic charm in the middle of the park.
As you plan your wedding at Knox Farm State Park East Aurora NY, think about whether you want an indoor or outdoor reception. Weddings in the mansion are capped at 250 guests for a cocktail-style reception or 150 for a seated dinner.
An outdoor wedding reception at Knox Farm State Park holds lots of appeal. I highly recommend you get a tent just in case it rains.
Despite the rural atmosphere, Knox Farm State Park is close to the heart of East Aurora, NY. It’s just about a block away from Main Street. This location is great for hosting guests from out of town as well as Buffalonians. Local restaurants like The Poked Yoke and Bar-Bill Tavern line that stretch of Main Street. Further down, you’ll find Rosie’s Handcrafted Ice Cream and Vidler’s 5 & 10. Guests can stay at the Roycroft Inn nearby.

Wedding Photos at Knox Farm State Park
For weddings at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, NY, the mansion has two getting ready rooms. The decor is simple but elegant. Sunlight and gilt details make it an inviting space to spend the day.
I love taking wedding photos here regardless of whether a couple actually gets married at the mansion. Sometimes I’ll suggest that a couple stop by the park with their wedding party before or after their ceremony to take advantage of the beautiful scenery.
When I take couples to Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, NY, we do a mix of individual, couples, and wedding party portraits. This is a great place for family to come along too if you don’t do family photos at your venue.
Some brides prefer to do portraits before their wedding day. Knox Farm is a great place to take them. The wide stretches of landscape add a dramatic edge to your photos. It’s often quiet too. Just make sure you plan your session when there isn’t an event going on.
Most of my clients are pet parents. They love that they can bring their pups to a photo session at Knox Farm State Park!
